Roof Repair, Restoration and Replacement in Farmington, Utah
Farmington was one of the places where the September 2020 windstorm reached about 100 mph, and most of its homes are newer. This is a service area, not an office.
At the center of the 2020 windstorm
The Standard-Examiner reported that winds reached about 100 mph in Farmington and Centerville on September 8, 2020, and that roofing and siding were blown off school buildings across Davis County. Farmington sits at the foot of the Wasatch where east canyon winds come down. For a homeowner, the lesson is that damage can be subtle. See hail-damage inspection notes for Layton, Kaysville and Farmington for a ground-level checklist, and Utah homeowners insurance roof checklist if you are working with an insurer.
A newer city with a small older core
The ACS (2020–2024) puts Farmington’s median home at 2002. By our arithmetic, about 54% of its 7,431 housing units were built in 2000 or later, about 18% before 1980 and about 4% before 1960. About 81% of occupied homes are owner-occupied. The city covers 10.0 square miles.
Weather
NOAA’s 1991–2020 normals for Farmington 3 NW (about 4,380 feet) record about 20.7 inches of precipitation and 49.6 inches of snow a year, about 122 days at or below 32°F, about 56 days at 90°F or more and about 4 days at 100°F or more. Davis County’s planning office notes lake-effect snow can bring up to roughly 90 inches to the high bench areas.
